SUP Yoga with Alina from Yogalina Wellness Centre
I am finally bringing together my love for yoga and my new love, stand up paddle boarding where I will be providing all day SUP Yoga sessions in partnership with Oxford SUP Club at a beautiful Farmoor reservoir just outside of Oxford.
SUP Yoga is a memorable activity and a great opportunity for you to try something new and fun, which can be an amazing treat for yourself, or bring your partner, friends for an enhanced fun experience together. Our sessions are suitable for all abilities & no previous SUP or YOGA experience is required. All equipment is included in the price. Participants must be aged 16+.
What to expect
We will be combining gentle yoga moves on a professional paddle board, surrounded by beautiful scenery at the Farmoor reservoir. Combining traditional yoga practice and paddle boarding brings a whole new dimension to both activities.
Be prepared to have fun and to be inspired, as you learn new skills, immersing yourself in our positive, vibrant way of life. Jump on the board with us to try out one of the fastest growing and exciting combinations in both the yoga and SUP worlds.
SUP Yoga Teacher Alina Skuba is an experienced Yoga Teacher (500hr certified by The British Wheel of Yoga, 500hr Certified by Yoga Alliance in Goa, India), qualified SUP Yoga Instructor and qualified SUP Instructor. Alina is also the founder and director of Yogalina Wellness Centre in Oxfordshire, providing a variety of yoga classes, retreats and creative wellness services to a broad range of customers across several locations.
Alina will show you how to get stable and comfortable on the board, and then move through gradual classical yoga postures on your board – in a class that will both challenge, strengthen and relax both your body and mind.
Benefits of SUP yoga
Everyone knows that yoga is just fantastic for overall health and wellbeing. Why? Yoga relaxes the body, focuses and clearing the mind, improves posture, increases flexibility, tones and lengthens muscles, helps reduce stress and associated problems such as anxiety and depression.
Doing yoga on a paddle board brings a completely different dimension to the whole experience. It’s fun, it will challenge you in the post positive way. Be prepared to be inspired, as you learn new skills, immersing yourself in our positive, vibrant way of life. Performing traditional yoga poses on a paddle board creates a different challenge physically, where you have to engage core strength to keep you grounded and balanced.
You won’t have to be experienced in either yoga or paddleboarding to give it a go. Our SUP Yoga instructor Alina will guide you through postures suitable for everybody. You will have loads of fun trying SUP Yoga with us!
WHAT WE PROVIDE: Board, paddles, buoyancy aids and wetsuits if needed.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: You need to bring your swimwear, a towel, and your clothes for afterwards. As the water is lovely and warm, shorts & t-shirt or gym wear are ideal.
